Critic's Choice
National Business Review - March 16, 2007 - page 44 - view
Yes, well, it's a small mention, but look, a picture! Also, they spelt my name Roseanna. I mean, really. It's right there on the DVD cover. Sigh.

Best of the Docos at the Cinema
New Zealand Herald TimeOut Magazine - Dec 28, 2006 - page 12 - view
Get this: "... An Inconvenient Truth hasn't made the list because, all things considered, these five were finer films." So, if An Inconvenient Truth won the Oscar, that means... well, I don't know what it means, but this truly made my day. My week even. All I can say is Thanks Peter - though I'm not sure I agree with you. But thanks!!

I can't resist - here is the cover of the magazine... they put the still from the film next to... Mr Ang Lee. I realise I'm being a little silly here.

Uncut film crosses cultural boundaries

The joys of scanning newsprint make me look like pink polka dot wallpaper, but oh well. And yes, I am aware my smile looks slightly idiotic. When does it not?

When we did this, we didn't really know our big puppy-dog grins were going to be the cover. I know I sound like a whining tall-poppy-syndrome New Zealander and should just be happy for the publicity. Believe me, I am. It was wonderful exposure, and I really can't thank my publicist enough. However, I should note that the writer of the article disavowed all responsibility for the title of the article. Somehow, she knew that I strongly disliked the film of the same name. Or thought it was a schmaltzy piece of ridiculous fluff herself. I may be a romantic, but I'm not a retard.

I actually have no idea what this article says. They could be trash-talking me, and I would still post it all over the place...

Alas, this link has since lapsed, but I did print it out in a fit of joy, and here it is in scanned glory. Before this, I don't think I'd ever had a stranger rave about a film of mine with such enthusiasm. I can tell you, it was a pretty amazing feeling.

Secret Lovers
Sunday View (NZ Herald Magazine) - 17 July 2005 - page 14 - view
People thought I had posed all 'china doll-like' in Buddhist prayer or something ... in actuality I was overly excited by the fact that I'd just been presented a hot chocolate with a whole Whittaker's dark chocolate sante in it. I'm not sure if Atomic on Ponsonby Rd even does this anymore - but evidently I was pretty stoked when it came out like that.

The Last Word
Real Groove Magazine - June 2005 - page 112 - view
This was the first article ever on the film. When this came out, I realised I really wasn't going to be able to hide it from my parents anymore, so I bought a copy, hinted to my parents that they should read the back page, and then ran away, hoping they wouldn't bother to read the text. They didn't... but then the TV and radio and newspaper coverage started happening.
